A New Sense of Space
Before
The original guest bathroom felt smaller and darker than its actual footprint. A lowered soffit with fluorescent lighting visually compressed the room, while the traditional tub-shower combination limited both functionality and openness. Dated finishes and a busy mix of materials added visual weight, creating a space that felt confined and disconnected.
Designed for Daily Life
Thoughtfully selected materials balance warmth, durability, and everyday comfort. Warm wood tones bring softness, while large-format porcelain tile creates a calm, timeless backdrop. A floating vanity with generous drawer storage and 84-inch (213 cm) custom shower doors enhance the sense of openness, making the room feel noticeably more spacious.
The transformation centered on openness, proportion, and simplicity. By removing the soffit, replacing the tub-shower combination with a walk-in shower, and streamlining the material palette, the space gained a stronger sense of flow and visual continuity. The result is a calm, modern bathroom that feels significantly more spacious than before.
